Frog Flip docs
Everything good to know, in plain words.
1. Start here
Frog Flip is two small games where a frog decides your luck:
- Flip: pick heads or tails. Win and you get 1.96x your bet.
- Splash: the frog leaps and the number climbs. Cash out before it splashes.
Every result is provably fair: you can check it yourself, and nobody (not even us) can pick the outcome.
Testnet only. Frog Flip runs on the Elysium testnet. Test HYPE has no real value. You can't win or lose real money here.
Play for fun. On mainnet, only bet what you can afford to lose.
How to start
- Install a wallet (MetaMask, Rabby or similar).
- Get free test HYPE from the Elysium testnet faucet.
- Open Frog Flip, tap Connect wallet, and play.

2. Flip
- Pick Heads (frog face) or Tails (frog rear).
- Pick an amount, or use ½ and 2×.
- Tap the frog coin to flip (or hold it to wind it up, and let go). The result shows in about 3 seconds.
Win: you get 1.96x your bet (your bet doubled, minus the 2% fee). Then pick: double it bets the whole win again, or cash out keeps it.
Lose: the bet is gone.
Tap any flip in the pond flips list to see its details and check it was fair.
3. Splash
Splash runs in rounds, one after another.
- Betting time: place your bet (tap leap in) while the countdown runs. You can also set an auto cash-out (from 1.01x to 100x).
- The leap: the frog jumps and the multiplier climbs.
- Cash out any time before the splash. You win your bet times the multiplier you cashed out at.
- Splash! If the frog splashes before you cash out, the bet is lost.
Good to know
- Your auto cash-out pays out on its own if the frog gets that far, even if you look away.
- About 1 round in 100 splashes instantly at 1.00x.
- The chance the frog reaches 2x is 1 in 2, 10x is 1 in 10, and so on.
- A cash-out counts only if it lands on the chain before the splash. If you tap in the very last moment, you may see "Too late!".
- Tap any past round to check it was fair.
4. Your money
There are two ways to bet. You can switch anytime.
A. Sign each bet in your wallet
Every bet is a wallet popup. Winnings go straight to your wallet. Always available.
B. In-app balance
- Deposit some test HYPE once, then bet with no popups.
- Wins go back into your in-app balance.
- Withdraw anytime: the balance goes back to your wallet.
- Behind the scenes your browser holds a small "session key" that can only place bets and cash out for you. It can never send your money anywhere else. Winnings and withdrawals always go to your own wallet.
5. Provably fair
In short: the house locks its answer in before you bet, and you add your own random part. Neither side can change the result afterwards.
Flip, step by step
- Long before you play, the house publishes sealed "fingerprints" of its secrets on the chain.
- When you flip, your browser makes your own random seed and sends only its fingerprint with the bet.
- The house reveals its secret, your page reveals your seed, and the contract mixes both to get heads or tails.
- The house can't change its secret (it's locked by the fingerprint), and you can't change your seed either.
Bet tickets (Flip). Your bet also carries a locked copy of your seed that only our server can open. Before each flip, your page asks our server for a free "ticket": the server checks it can open that copy and signs it. The Flip contract refuses bets without a ticket, so bets can only come from our website. Your page sends your seed itself within seconds; the helper does not finish bets for pages that were closed. Trust note: the helper can read your seed once you ask for a ticket, so you trust it not to misuse it (it still can't change the result of a bet, and if it never finishes a bet, you are paid as a winner).
Splash, step by step
- Before a round starts, its secret's fingerprint is on the chain.
- After the splash, the secret is revealed. The splash point comes from that secret by a fixed formula.
- Anyone can check that the revealed secret matches the fingerprint and gives the same splash point.
Check it yourself: tap a flip or a past Splash round. The page re-does the math in your browser and shows if it matches.
For nerds
- Flip:
result = keccak256(abi.encode(secret, seed, betId, player, contract, chainId)) & 1→ 0 = Heads, 1 = Tails. The house secret must hash to the commitment posted before your bet; your seed must hash to the seedHash you sent. - Splash:
h = keccak256(abi.encode(secret, round, contract, chainId)) >> 204(52 bits);crash = max(1.00, floor(100 · 2^52 / (2^52 − h)) / 100). So P(crash ≥ m) = 1/m. - You can look the contracts up on the explorer (see section 11).
6. If something goes wrong
These protections are for the testnet. Mainnet will have more protections for both players and the house.
- You closed the tab during a flip: keep the page open until the result shows (it takes a few seconds). If you come back to the page within 5 minutes, it finishes the flip for you. After that the bet counts as a loss: we no longer finish bets for closed pages.
- The house doesn't reveal in time: your flip counts as a win and you are paid as a winner. Anyone can trigger this; we usually do it for you.
- Your seed never arrives: if your side of a flip isn't revealed within 5 minutes of the house's reveal, the bet counts as a loss (for example: you closed the tab or lost internet mid-flip and didn't come back in time, you cleared your browser data before the flip finished, or you placed the bet with your own script and never sent your seed).
- A Splash round is never revealed: the round is cancelled. Cash-outs you made are paid, and everyone else gets their bet back.
- A payout fails to arrive (for example, your wallet is a contract that refuses it): the amount is kept safe for you in the game, and you can claim it later.
7. Fees and limits
- Fee: 2% of every bet. That's the only house edge. The rest of the game is fair odds.
- Where the fee goes (of every bet's stake):
- 1% stays in the pot, so the pot slowly grows and can keep paying winners.
- 0.3% goes to the player who invited you, if someone did. It comes out of the fee: it never costs you extra.
- 0.7% goes to the project's treasury (the full 1% when nobody invited you).
- Smallest bet: 0.001 HYPE (both games).
- Biggest bet: shown on each game's page, because it follows the size of the pot:
- Flip: the stake can be at most 1 HYPE, and at most 2% of the free pot.
- Splash: one bet can win at most 5 HYPE (and at most 3% of the free pot), one round at most 10 HYPE (and 6%). A bet that is too big isn't refused: its auto cash-out is lowered to what fits.
- Splash auto cash-out: from 1.01x to 100x.
8. Nicknames
- One nickname per wallet, saved on the chain.
- 3 to 16 characters: letters, numbers and
_. - Unique: no two players can have the same name (upper/lower case counts as the same).
- No nickname? You get a fun default like "Jolly Tadpole".
- Nicknames are public. Don't use your real name.
9. Points, invites and the pot
- Points: every day a fixed pool of points is shared between players, by how much fee each paid that day. Bet through this website to earn them. See the Points page for the daily, weekly and all-time boards.
- No value promised: points are for fun and for the leaderboard. They are not a token, and we make no promise of any airdrop, reward or value. They can change or be reset, and points from unfair play (for example scripts or farms) can be slashed.
- Invites: every player has an invite code (their frog name at first; you can pick your own once, then it's permanent). Share
?ref=yourcode. When a friend you invited has wagered 0.5 HYPE in total, you get 10% of their points on top (taken from the same daily pool, so nobody's points shrink). You also get 0.3% of every bet your friend makes, claimable on your profile. Your inviter is saved on the chain with your first bet and never changes. - Profile: your points, rank, bets, wagered, biggest win and best streak, and your invite card.
- The pot: the Pot page shows what the pot holds, how it grew from fees and how it moved with players' luck. The pot pays winners; because the games are fair after the 2% fee, the fee is what grows it on average. Testnet numbers can look very high or low; they are not a promise.
10. The pond vault
Flip and Splash share one pot. It pays every winner and keeps every lost bet. It lives in its own contract, the pond vault, and anyone can put test HYPE into it.
Deposit
- On the pot page: type an amount and deposit. You get pondHYPE, your share of the pot.
- The pot keeps 1% of every bet, so pondHYPE slowly gains value. But you also share players' luck: when players win, the pot goes down. You can get back less than you put in.
- The vault has a size limit. It shows open, full or closed.
Withdraw
- Ask to withdraw, then claim after 6 hours (testnet). You get the price at the moment you claim.
- Asking again adds to your request and starts the 6 hours again. You can cancel anytime.
- Withdrawals always work, also when the games are paused or deposits are closed.
Fair prices while bets are open
- A deposit is priced as if the pot wins every open bet, a withdrawal as if it loses every one. So nobody can jump in right before a loss or out right before a win at others' cost.
- Money waiting for inviters and the treasury is never part of the pot, the price or the APR.
- So while many bets are open (for example bots that never finish theirs), the withdraw price sits a little lower. Open Flip bets usually finish within minutes and the price comes back. The pot page warns you when this is the case.
- Your claim has a safety minimum: if the price drops after you looked (someone opened lots of bets), the claim is refused, nothing is taken, and you can claim again later.
Two numbers on the pot page
- Your return so far: the real change of your pondHYPE, ups and downs included.
- Average from fees (APR): only the 1% fee slice, from the last 7 days, as a yearly rate. An estimate, not a promise.
Safety
- Only the two games can use the pot, and only up to what they set aside for open bets. Adding a game needs a public notice.
- The owner can't take pot money out: there is no function for it. Upgrades need a public notice (1 hour on testnet, longer on mainnet).
- Testnet and unaudited: use it at your own risk.
11. The contracts
What the owner can do
- Pause new bets (for example, to upgrade a contract).
- Upgrade a contract, but only after announcing it on the chain first. On testnet the notice is 1 hour. Mainnet will have a longer notice period.
- Set bet limits (smallest and biggest bet).
- Change the fee. It's 2% today, and the contract never lets it go above 10%.
- Pond vault: open or close new deposits, set the vault's size limit and the treasury wallet, lower the bet limits at once (raising them needs a public notice).
What the owner can never do
- Touch money owed to open bets or to players' in-app balances. The contract keeps that money aside, and only the player it belongs to can withdraw it.
- Change the result of a flip or round.
- Take money out of the pond vault, or block your withdrawal.
12. Stay safe
- We will never DM you first.
- We will never ask for your seed phrase or private key. Anyone who does is a scammer.
- The only official site is frogflip.xyz. Check the address before you connect your wallet.
- Official news only comes from X (@Frogflipxyz).
13. Words we use
- Seed: a secret random number your browser makes for each flip.
- Fingerprint (commitment): a sealed hash of a secret. It proves the secret was fixed in advance without showing it.
- Multiplier: how many times your bet you win in Splash if you cash out now.
- Cash out: take your Splash win before the frog splashes.
- Auto cash-out: a multiplier you pick in advance; your bet cashes out there on its own.
- In-app balance: test HYPE you deposited into the game for popup-free bets.
- Pot: the shared money that pays winners, kept in the pond vault.
- pondHYPE: your share of the pot after a vault deposit.
- Free pot: the pot minus what is set aside for open bets and pending withdrawals. Bet limits are based on it.
14. FAQ
Is this real money?
No. Testnet only. Test HYPE has no value.
Where do I get test HYPE?
My flip says "flipping…" for a long time.
Keep the page open. If it's stuck, refresh. Your bet is safe on the chain and will finish (see section 6).
Why do I need to sign a popup?
Every bet is a blockchain transaction. Use the in-app balance (section 4) for popup-free bets.
Can the house cheat?
No. See section 5, and check any result yourself.
Why did my Splash cash-out say "Too late!"?
It reached the chain after the splash. Cash out a bit earlier, or use auto cash-out.
How do I reach you?
Message us on X (@Frogflipxyz).
Can I lose money in the pond vault?
Yes. The pot earns 1% of every bet, but pays out when players win, so it can go down for a while. It's test HYPE on testnet.
Why do vault withdrawals take 6 hours?
So the pot can't be emptied in one go while bets are running. Every request waits the same time and is paid at the price when you claim.
How do I get my invite money?
Open your profile and press claim.
Will there be a mainnet?
Yes, it's coming. Follow X (@Frogflipxyz) for news.
